Mr Arocena specialises in complex corporate matters, securities and private equity transactions. He has actively represented both investment funds and companies on several private equity and M&A transactions for more than 20 years.
He earned his law degree from Universidad Católica Argentina in 1988, and obtained an LLM from the Illinois University School of Law in 1990. In June 1990 he was admitted to the Bar of the State of New York. From 1994 to 1995 he worked as a foreign associate at Simpson Thacher & Bartlett in New York. Since 2001 Mr Arocena has taught private equity studies on the MBA course at the Universidad del CEMA in Argentina.
Mr Arocena has co-written several books and publications and is a frequent lecturer and adviser of different organisations, such as the New York State Bar Association, where he has been the chair of the Argentine section since 1991, the Council of the Americas, the Argentine Bar, where he has been elected to the board of governors, the Inter-American Development Bank and the World Bank.
He speaks fluent Spanish, English and Portuguese.
