Biography: Insolvency & Restructuring

Mr Munhoz is a partner of Mattos Filho, Veiga Filho, Marrey Jr e Quiroga Advogados. He has a degree in Law from University of São Paulo Law School, obtained in 1993, and Doctorate in commercial law from the University of São Paulo, obtained in 2002. He is a professor of law at the University of São Paulo.

The main focus of Mr Munhoz's practice is corporate, litigation, arbitration, restructuring and bankruptcy. In recent years he has led complex corporate and commercial litigation as well as high profile cases of bankruptcy and restructuring.

Mr Munhoz is a member and director of Instituto Brasileiro de Direito Comercial Brasileiro e Comparado e Biblioteca Tullio Ascarelli; a member of the editorial board of Revista de Direito Mercantil, Industrial, Econômico e Financeiro; and member and administrative council deputy of the Turnaround Management Association – TMA. Consultant to the inter-ministerial group formed by the Ministry of Justice, Ministry of Finance and the Brazilian Central Bank to prepare the bankruptcy and restructuring draft bill in 2004.
