As a tax attorney, André Mendes Moreira has a unique experience with litigation and consultancy in the 27 states of Brazil, at all levels (federal, state and municipal), acquired by assisting companies with nationwide activity and by working in leading tax law cases at the Supreme Court and the Superior Court of Justice.
He is the author of the books The Taxation of Communication Services (2006), The Value-Added Taxation (2010) and co-organiser of the book Telecommunications Law and Taxation (2006), having also published dozens of articles related to tax law, including a chapter in a book that received the Jabuti prize of 2008 (the highest prize awarded in the country for a law book).
In the institutional field, André Mendes Moreira is the vice-president of the tax committee of the American Chamber of Commerce in Minas Gerais (AMCHAM/MG), as well as a member of the editorial council of Fórum Tax Law Journal.
He is also a tax law professor at Milton Campos College, in Minas Gerais, at Getúlio Vargas Foundation (postgraduate tax law course), in Rio de Janeiro, and at the Brazilian Institute of Tax Law, in São Paulo.
André Mendes Moreira is fluent in Portuguese, English, Spanish and Italian.
