Biography: Environment

Ms Huber is co-head of the environmental group in Davis Polk's corporate department. She has provided advice for over 14 years to various financial institutions, private equity firms and other companies in a wide range of environmental matters, particularly in the context of mergers and acquisitions, and capital markets and other financing transactions. In addition, she has extensive experience in the treatment of environmental liabilities in bankruptcy, advising on complex environmental toxic tort liabilities, in environmental insurance and indemnification issues, as well as environmental corporate governance matters.

In her pro bono practice, she has represented The Rainforest Alliance, the Transgender Legal Defense & Education Fund, the Gay Men's Health Crisis, BronxWorks and the Women's Prayer Summit.

Recent representations include the underwriters in the $23.1 billion General Motors IPO; Cosan SA Indústria e Comércio in its $12 billion joint venture with Shell; Grupo Aval Acciones y Valores SA's acquisition of BAC Credomatic; Symantec's acquisition of Verisign's authentication business; Noble Group's acquisition of Sempra Energy Solutions; Roche Group's acquisition of Genentech Inc; PepsiCo's mergers with Pepsi Bottling Group and PepsiAmericas; and Warner Chilcott's acquisition of Procter & Gamble's Global Pharmaceuticals business.

Ms Huber has been ranked as a leading environmental lawyer in Chambers USA: America's Leading Lawyers for Business since 2007. She was also recognised in Law Business Research's Who's Who Legal–The International Who's Who of Environmental Lawyers in 2010 and 2011 and Legal 500 US 2011 in Environment: Transaction and Regulatory Law.

She is cited as an environmental law expert in numerous industry publications, including CFO.com, Directorship magazine, Financier Worldwide and Dow Jones Private Equity Analyst. She is a frequent speaker on a variety of environmental law topics, including on behalf of the Practising Law Institute and TheCorporateCounsel.net. In addition, she is the author of numerous articles published by various organisations including The Harvard Law School Forum on Corporate Governance and Financial Regulation, the American Bar Association, the Environmental Law Institute and TacklingGlobalWarming.com.

Ms Huber is a member of the environment, energy and resources division of the American Bar Association and a member of the Environmental Law Institute.

Ms Huber was made an associate of the firm in 1996 and counsel 2004. She received her BA from the University of Pennsylvania in 1993 (cum laude), and her JD in 1996 from New York University School of Law. She is admitted in the state of New York.
