Biography: Corporate Tax

As a member of Davis Polk's tax department, Mr Dimon advises clients on federal income tax matters in a variety of contexts, domestic and international, including financial product development and use of derivatives, bankruptcy reorganisations and workouts, tax audits, tax planning for financial institutions, hedge fund organisation and investments, equipment leasing, securities offerings and mergers and acquisitions.

He obtained his BA from Harvard College in 1975 and achieved his JD from the University of Michigan Law School in 1985 (summa cum laude).

Mr Dimon is listed as a leading lawyer in several legal industry publications, including: Chambers Global: The World's Leading Lawyers for Business; Chambers USA: America's Leading Lawyers for Business; and Law Business Research's The International Who's Who of Corporate Tax Lawyers.

He is a Fellow of the American College of Tax Counsel and member (section chair, 2002) of the tax section's executive committee, in addition to being a member of the New York State Bar Association. Mr Dimon was law clerk to Honourable Byron R White of the US Supreme Court 1985 to 1987, he then became an associate from 1987 to 1993 and has been a partner since 1993.

He is admitted to the State of New York and the District of Columbia bars and the US District Court and the Sourthern District of New York.
