Biography: Corporate Tax
Acting for public and private oil and gas companies, royalty trusts, income funds, investment funds and utility companies, Alan Ross focuses on the income tax aspects of corporate reorganisations, corporate finance, mergers and acquisitions and the reorganisation and conversion of income funds and royalty trusts.He acts for a number of foreign-based participants in the Canadian energy industry, structuring cross-border financings, mergers and acquisitions.
Chambers Global recognises Alan as being "undoubtedly one of the best tax lawyers in Calgary".
Alan is a member of the Canadian Petroleum Tax Society and the Canadian Tax Foundation.
Alan received his BA (with honours) from the University of Calgary in 1976 and his MA in 1978 and his LLB in 1981 from the University of British Columbia. He was called to the Alberta Bar in 1982.
