His practice focuses on mergers and acquisitions, corporate governance, friendly and hostile takeover bids, corporate reorganisations, divestitures, initial public offerings and public and private offerings of debt and equity securities.
Perry has extensive national and cross-border experience and has acted for clients in some of the largest transactions in Canada. His mergers and acquisitions experience includes representing clients in over $25 billion of transactions, including many of Canada's and North America's largest national and cross-border mergers. In addition, Perry is lead counsel to the ATCO Group of Companies.
He is recognised by Chambers Global, the Legal Media Group, Best Lawyers in Canada, PLC Which Lawyer, the IFLR 1000 and The Canadian Legal Lexpert Directory as a leading lawyer in his areas of expertise.
Perry is a director of public and private companies and is a past member of the Alberta Securities Commission advisory committee.
He is a frequent speaker and chairs national and international conferences on a variety of business law topics.
Perry received his BA (Economics) from McGill University in 1979 and his LLB from Osgoode Hall Law School in 1982. He is also fluent in French and German.
