From 2007-2010 Mr Ghikas was a Canadian delegate to UNCITRAL working group II, addressing revisions to the UNCITRAL Arbitration Rules. He is a former director and chair of the rules committee of the ADR Institute of Canada, and was the recipient in 2006 of the National Award for Excellence in the field of dispute resolution.

Mr Ghikas has served as arbitrator in numerous international and domestic commercial arbitrations, and has over 35 years' experience as a trial lawyer and arbitration counsel. He has extensive experience in disputes involving the mining, electricity, oil and gas and technology industries.
