Biography: Competition

Dave specialises in antitrust law, particularly implementing and structuring domestic and international mergers and acquisitions in Australia as well as general competition and cartel matters. Dave has acted in numerous high-profile mergers, acquisitions and joint ventures and has also been involved in providing advice in relation to Australia's mining, financial services, energy, agriculture, rail, pharmaceutical, media and infrastructure sectors.

Dave has represented business and professional bodies in relation to law reform in Australia and internationally. He has acted for the Business Council of Australia on law reform, various small business organisations on law reform and is a non-governmental adviser for Australia to the International Competition Network.

He is the previous chair of the Law Council of Australia trade practices committee and is a vice-chair of the IBA antitrust committee. Dave is on the advisory board of the University of South Australia Centre for Regulatory and Market Analysis. He has degrees in law (with honours) and economics from the University of Adelaide.
