Biography: Insolvency & Restructuring

Adam is a partner in our restructuring and insolvency team, based in London. He specialises in advising debtors, creditors and other stakeholders in complex restructuring matters often involving a cross-border element. Recent experience includes advising: Cattles PLC, the sub-prime lender, on its £3bn restructuring (ongoing); Crest Nicholson, one of the country's largest house builders, in respect of its debt restructuring; the administrators of Woolworths' wholesale business, Entertainment UK; a leading Kuwaiti corporate on its multi-creditor restructuring; the bank lenders to Erinaceous PLC on its restructuring, and also lenders to various other corporates including Blacks Leisure and British Seafood; Queens Moat Houses PLC on all aspects of its financial restructuring; Lehman Brothers on Le Meridien hotels group restructuring; the administrators (KPMG) of the UK subsidiaries of the 360networks telecommunications cable group; and US Chapter XI creditors' committee in relation to the Navigator/Cambridge Gas case ([2006] All ER(D) 225), which is one of the leading private international law decisions on cross-border restructuring.

Adam contributes to a number of restructuring journals and speaks on related matters at national insolvency conferences and also at client seminars. He is rated in Chambers and is a member of the Insolvency Lawyers' Association, as well as being co-chair of the American Bankruptcy Institute international committee. Adam is also qualified as a US attorney, having been admitted to the New York State Bar in 2000.

More recently, Adam was recognised by the Institute for Turnaround as "Legal Adviser of the Year" 2008.
