Patricia Hoet-Limbourg is a partner in the intellectual property practice group of Hoet Peláez Castillo & Duque, one of the largest law firms in Venezuela. Mrs Hoet-Limbourg focuses her practice on all aspects of intellectual property, namely, IP portfolio management, acquisition, licensing and counselling, both domestically and abroad. Patricia has extensive experience in domestic and foreign trademark prosecution and supervises the trademark searching, filing and maintenance for several Fortune 500 multinational companies.

Before becoming a partner at HPCD, she practised intellectual property law in the Benelux countries, where she managed domestic and foreign trademark portfolios of leading European companies.

Mrs Hoet-Limbourg graduated from the Faculty of Law of the Universidad Católica Andrés Bello (JD, 1993) and completed a Masters Degree in European Community Law from the Institut d'Etudes Européennes, Université Libre de Bruxelles, Belgium (1995). She is an industrial property agent and was awarded a merit of honour in the first class of the State of Miranda Bar Association. She currently serves as the vice chair of the IP and entertainment law committee of the IBA and as chair of the Latin America and Caribbean subcommittee of the parallel imports committee of the INTA. She is also a member of several international associations, such as Marques, ASIPI and ECTA.

She speaks Spanish, French, English and Dutch.
