He advises Mexican banks as well as non-Mexican financial institutions doing business in Mexico. As part of his practice, Mr Kuri Breña is frequently involved in the negotiation and documentation of loan and collateral documentation.
Mr Kuri Breña has also represented Mexican borrowers in their negotiations with Mexican and international financial companies as well as with multi-lateral organisations.
He is also frequently involved in different types of structured financing. He has advised Rabobank in the negotiation and implementation of structured financing for Grupo Corvi and Fertilizantes Tepeyac. He also assisted Copamex in a structured financing facility and Papel, Cartón y Derivados in a collateralised loan and the subsequent refinancing thereof. Mr Kuri Breña recently advised IXE Banco in the granting of structured financings for Water Capital and Leasing Operations de Mexico.

He has also been constantly involved in securitisations and other structured financing transactions. Mr Kuri Breña designed and implemented the first securitisation of commercial accounts receivable in Mexico, a ground breaking transaction in the Mexican securities market, that was later followed by many others. As a result, he is constantly involved in securitisation transactions of all types of assets.
He has designed and implemented trade receivables securitisations for Vitro, Mexico's largest glass containers manufacturer; Cemex, Mexico's largest cement company; Grupo Zapata, Grupo Pochteca, Grupo Corvi, Copamex and Papel, Cartón y Derivados. He also implemented securitisations of office equipment leases for Docuformas, and securitisations of vehicle leasing contracts for Unirenta and AB&C Leasing de Mexico.

Mr Kuri Breña recently advised Grupo Financiero Banorte in the merger with IXE, Grupo Financiero, a transaction that resulted in the creation of Mexico's third largest financial group including two banks, two stock brokerage houses, a bond company, an insurance company and a number of other financial entities. He also recently advised Coca-Cola Femsa, SAB de CV (KOF) Mexico's largest Coca-Cola bottling company in the acquisition of Grupo Tampico, another bottler and distributor of Coca Cola products with presence in several states of the Mexican Republic.
In the field of privatizations his experience includes representing the Mexican federal government in the sale of the largest life insurance company of the country. He has also represented private companies in the acquisition of the largest steel mill in Mexico, and a number of mining, petrochemical and fertilizer companies.
As part of his practice, Mr Kuri Breña is frequently involved in antitrust matters as they relate to mergers and acquisitions before the Federal Antitrust Commission.
