In the international arena, Mr Crampton also represents and consults with clients on product liability matters in Europe, Latin America, Asia and the Middle East. As international coordinating counsel for multinational corporations, Mr Crampton has advised clients on individual cases, class actions and administrative claims in over 25 countries. Mr Crampton trains international counsel to handle specialised cases, oversees legal pleadings and addresses evidentiary issues in foreign courts. Between 2004 and 2006, Mr Crampton served as managing partner of the firm's office in Geneva, Switzerland.
Mr Crampton also focuses on international law reform and public policy, working with multinational companies, industry associations and law reform organisations. Mr Crampton is an expert in class action procedures in civil law countries and advises stakeholders on class action laws being adopted world-wide. Mr Crampton is co-author of a chapter on class action developments overseas in Product Liability Litigation: Current Law, Strategies and Best Practices (2009, 2010, 2011 and 2012). He also co-authored two articles on Mexican class action law in the 6 September 2011 issue of Law360 and the 30 September 2011 issue of the Federalist Society's Class Action Watch newsletter. On 13 June 2012, he spoke at a meeting of the Center for Studies of Economic and Social Rights in São Paulo, Brazil, and published an article entitled 'Class Actions: The North American Experience'.
Mr Crampton serves as the head of the firm's Pipeline Initiative, a diversity and inclusion project aimed at encouraging diverse students in high school and college to consider careers in law.
Mr Crampton is a member of the American Bar Association, the International Bar Association, the Missouri Organization of Defense Lawyers, the Kansas City Metropolitan Bar Association and The Lawyers Association of Kansas City. He is listed in Who's Who Legal: The International Who's Who of Product Liability Defence Lawyers and Expert Guides: Guide to the World's Leading Product Liability Lawyers.
While in law school at Creighton University, Mr Crampton served as assistant editor of the Creighton Law Review. He is the author of a proposed method of analysis for personal jurisdiction found at 17 Creighton Law Review 1459 (1984).
