Biography: Product Liability Defence

Prof Dr Thomas Klindt is partner in the Munich office of Noerr and member of the firm's litigation department specialising in product liability and product safety. He is head of the firm's interdisciplinary compliance group and co-heads Noerr's defence & security group. Mr Klindt is internationally recognised as one of Europe's most experienced experts dealing with product liability crisis scenarios including automotive products, electronics, medical devices, cosmetics, machinery, rail, aviation.

Mr Klindt acts for and provides assistance to the firm's German and international clients in product liability and in product safety matters including advising on the effect of regulations, assisting with product recalls, crisis management, and responding to the demands of regulatory authorities.

Mr Klindt graduated from Münster University and is specialised in administrative law since 2003. In the same year he became member of the advisory council for monitoring the legislative process on the German Equipment and Product Safety Act. In 2009 he was appointed to be a member of the Consumer Commission of the Bavarian State Government. Mr Klindt is honorary professor for product and technology law at the University of Kassel and regional vice-chair EMEA of Lex Mundi's practice group toxic tort and products liability.

Mr Klindt, honoured as innovative lawyer of the year by 2008 FT Innovative Lawyers Awards for promoting compliance in Germany, has published widely and acts as overseas correspondent for the Australian Product Liability Reporter. He is member of the academic board of the medical products law research centre of the University of Augsburg.
