Oliver is a pre-eminent lawyer who has earned a reputation as 'first-rate litigator'.
Oliver is a partner in our intellectual property (IP) group, based in the Düsseldorf office. He is also co-head of the international electronics sector group and an active member of the international life sciences group.
Oliver's specific area of expertise is the orchestration and implementation of international patent infringement litigation. He handles patent cases in all German Courts and the European Patent Office.
A graduate of the University in Hamburg, Germany and the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign (LLM 1999), Oliver joined Bird & Bird in 2002 to help establish the firm's German practice.
Chambers Europe 2012 stated 'He is at the top of my list of opponents to avoid in court.'
