Biography: Management Labour and Employment

Pascal Lagoutte is a founding partner and the chairman of the board of Capstan, a firm of 35 partners and more than 180 lawyers - all of them specialised in labour law.

Capstan is the leading French law firm in employment and social protection law, with nine offices in Paris, Lyon, Lille, Nantes, Saint-Etienne, Montpellier, Marseille, Toulouse and Sophia-Antipolis and worldwide presence through the Ius Laboris alliance, which it spearheads in France.

Pascal Lagoutte is one of the founders and a member of the executive committee of Ius Laboris, an international alliance of leading employment law firms (2500 lawyers and 45 member firms in 100 countries) providing specialised services in employment and labour law, pensions and employee benefits, covering all legal services related to HR.

An expert in all the legal aspects of employer/employee relations, Pascal Lagoutte began his career in 1984 after graduating from the Montpellier Law School and the National Foundation of Labour Law. He advises on individual and collective employee relations, executive management, social security, health and safety, restructuring and immigration issues. His firm, Capstan, has a bilingual team of lawyers dedicated to assisting international companies in these areas, as well as a department of specialists dedicated to tax law.

A frequent writer and speaker on these subjects, Pascal Lagoutte has published numerous articles on labour law topics in the specialised press, and regularly gives presentations designed to inform HR specialists. He is a lecturer on employment law at the university.

Pascal Lagoutte sits on the boards of the ETHIC organisation and ASTREES (Labour Employment & Europe Association). He is also a member of the IBA (International Bar Association) and EELA (European Employment Lawyers Association).
