Biography: Management Labour and Employment

Gerlind Wisskirchen is a partner and specialist lawyer in labour and employment law. Her strength in advising corporates lies in her in-depth understanding of the economic environment in which clients operate. She and her team strive to forge workable and strategically sensitive business solutions to real-world problems. Gerlind multinational corporations particularly on the issues of restructuring, on national and international labour issues and compliance aspects. She frequently acts as a business partner and a consultant to the management of a company in order to structure business plans and strategies from an HR/employment perspective.

Gerlind is the winner of the International Law Office (ILO) Client Choice Award 2010 for Labour and Employment, Germany. Gerlind is named in Chambers 2011 as leading labour and employment lawyer in Germany. Her professional memberships include being vice chair of cross-border HR (XBHR); co-chair of the employment and industrial relations law committee of the International Bar Association; co chair of the international committee, ERR, of the American Bar Association; member of the American Employment Law Council and of the Labour Lawyers' Advisory Committee of CUE; member of the labour and employment advisory board of the German Federal Bar. She is an advisory board member and lecturer at Cranfield University, UK, for the MBA programme in International Human Resources Management.

Gerlind studied law at the University of Bonn, at the Université de Lausanne (Switzerland) and at Georgetown University (USA). She holds a PhD on 'Disparate impact discrimination cases: USA - Europe'.
