Biography: Competition

Fiona is a partner in Arthur Cox's highly regarded EU and competition department. Her practice involves advising companies on all EU and Irish competition law-related matters, including merger control; competition law compliance; commercial agreements and strategic alliances; European Commission and Competition Authority investigations; state aid; litigation; and jurisdictional issues arising out of these matters. Fiona's clients operate in a broad range of sectors, including aviation; banking; construction; energy; FMCG; financial services; food and drink; health; insurance; pharmaceuticals; port services; retailing; technology; telecommunications, transport; water and waste management.

Fiona has advised on leading EU and Irish merger control cases, including mergers that have been approved following a Phase II review. Fiona has also advised on many competition law disputes, including those involving allegations of abuses of a dominant position. Fiona has assisted clients in developing competition law compliance strategies and the design and implementation of compliance programmes.

Fiona is co-author of the Irish chapter of The Public Competition Enforcement Review, published by Law Business Research. Fiona also speaks regularly at conferences on competition law developments, most recently at the American Bar Association Section of International Law Fall Meeting in October 2011. Fiona is also a member of the Irish Society of European Law.

Fiona joined Arthur Cox in 2000 and became a partner in 2007.
