Biography: Competition

Since 2000 Alf-Henrik Bischke has been a partner in the Düsseldorf and (since 2006) Brussels offices of Hengeler Mueller. He studied at the universities of Hamburg and Freiburg and the European University Institute in Florence, Italy. Mr Bischke specialises in German and European competition and antitrust law, in particular merger control and cartel investigations. He is also experienced in coordinating multi-jurisdictional filings.

Recent matters handled by Mr Bischke include: representing companies in the European Commission's chloroprene rubber, marine hose, sanitary fittings and CRT cartel investigations, representing a German foodstuff producer in antitrust proceedings by the German Federal Cartel Office, representing SPAR Austria in its appeal against the European Commission's clearance regarding the acquisition of ADEG by REWE before the General Court and representing Brambles regarding its acquisition of IFCO System.

Alf-Henrik Bischke has authored, and co-authored, a number of books and articles on European and German competition law.
