Mr Daly has practiced EU law in Brussels since 1996. He has significant competition law experience including advising on merger control proceedings, cartel investigations and litigation, distribution practices and abuse of dominance cases. He has advised clients in a variety of high-profile cases before the European Commission and national competition authorities and has represented clients in litigation before the EU Courts, national courts of EU member states and US courts and in a variety of international arbitrations and mediations.
Mr Daly has significant experience in relation to sports law and regularly counsels clients in contentious and non-contentious matters involving competition law, media rights, single supply arrangements, sponsorship, governance issues and disputes, EU free movement rules and disciplinary and regulatory investigations, as well as in relation to drafting and litigating commercial agreements.
He has also worked for clients in a variety of industries and business sectors, such as air transport, automotive parts, cement, food and beverages, glass, luxury goods, military products, pharmaceuticals, precious metals, professional and financial services and tobacco, and has particular experience in film, music, media and broadcasting.
From 2007 to 2010, Mr Daly served a four-year term as secretary general to the International Court of Appeal of the world motorsports regulator, the Fédération International de l'Automobile (FIA).
Mr Daly has written extensively on distribution, competition law criminalisation, cartel enforcement and sports law and is a regular speaker and contributor to conferences on competition law.
