He has represented companies before the German FCO and the European Commission, in particular in merger control filings, cartel investigations and dominance cases. Industries of particular expertise include energy, media and pharmaceutical/cosmetic. Albrecht is regarded as one of the leading experts in private enforcement cases.
Albrecht serves as board member of the Antitrust Lawyers' Association for Germany, Austria and Switzerland. He is teaching European Competition law at Mannheim University. Albrecht is co-author of two leading commentaries on German antitrust law. He has spoken frequently at various international competition conferences and published numerous articles on competition law.
Albrecht graduated from the Universities of Tübingen (Dr iur 1991) and Aix-en-Provence. Apart from his native German he is fluent in English and French.
