Andreas specialises in all aspects of the cartel, competition and energy law sectors as well as the principles of free trade in European Community law. Advisory activities include all areas of the deregulated energy markets, with particular focus on cooperation agreements, energy supply agreements and access to the energy supply networks of competitors as well as control of abusive practices and mergers.
He completed his legal education at the universities of Bonn and Bielefeld (Germany). Before becoming a lawyer in 1986, he worked for several years for the Federal Cartel Office (Bundeskartellamt) in Berlin. He is a member of the German Bar Association, the Studienvereinigung Kartellrecht and the German Association for the Protection of Industrial Property and Copyright (member of the antitrust committee).
He is co-editor of the Kölner Kommentar zum Kartellrecht (formerly: Müller-Henneberg, Gemeinschaftskommentar) and of the handbook Stromwirtschaft, and is co-author of the Münchener Kommentar zum Kartellrecht.
