Biography: Competition

Peter Oravec is a partner at PRK Partners sro, where he specialises in competition law. He received a masters degree in law from Charles University in Prague, the Czech Republic, and holds a Doctor of Laws degree (JUDr) from Comenius University in Bratislava, Slovakia. From 1998 to 2009, he worked for a London magic circle firm's office in Bratislava.

Peter specialises in cartels and provides regular advice regarding dominance issues and merger control issues.

Peter filed the first leniency application in Slovakia and he also supported its clients during a number of dawn raids by the Slovak Antimonopoly Office (AMO) and represented undertakings in connection with AMO investigations and also before Slovak courts in connected litigations. Peter has also represented a number of clients before the AMO in merger-control proceedings.

Peter has led numerous training sessions in competition law to clients across various sectors in Slovakia and the Czech Republic. He has also supported compliance programmes and internal investigations, and provides regular advice in connection with dominance and discrimination issues.

Recently, he has supported clients in connection with investigations by the Ministry of Agriculture regarding the Law on Inappropriate Terms in Business Relationships.
