Biography: Insurance & Reinsurance

Andreas Länzlinger is a partner at Bär & Karrer, head of the internal investigations practice group and one of the leading partners of the firm's litigation/arbitration practice group. He graduated from the University of Zurich in 1983 and was admitted to the Zurich Bar in 1986.

He has extensive experience in handling complex banking, commercial, corporate and insurance litigations, both domestic and cross-border in nature. He has advised Swiss clients in a number of mass tort litigation cases before US courts. During the last years, he has also regularly advised and represented Swiss corporate clients in compliance and investigation matters, including matters before US authorities such as the DOJ, the SEC and the FED, and matters involving the US Foreign Corrupt Practices Act. He and his team conducted several investigations in the insurance, banking and industry sectors, including matters related to US cross-border business.

Andreas Länzlinger is the author of several publications on lender liability, on Swiss corporate law and on compliance issues in connection with the fight against corruption. He is fluent in German, English and French.
