He has worked extensively on FIDIC and EDF contracts in various jurisdictions, including Uganda, Tanzania, Hong Kong, China, Nigeria, Bangladesh, Lesotho, Taiwan, Thailand, Denmark, Caribbean, Brazil, Turkey, Angola, Egypt and Saudi Arabia, as well as UK domestic forms of contract, including ECC/NEC and ad hoc contracts.
He is highly experienced in various forms of dispute resolution including international arbitration, litigation, domestic arbitration, adjudication and other alternative dispute resolution procedures, including conciliation and dispute adjudication and dispute review boards procedures.
Simon sits as a member of dispute adjudication boards and as a conciliator, and is also an accredited mediator and adjudicator.
Prior to qualifying as a solicitor, Simon worked as a civil engineer from 1975 to 1983. He qualified as a solicitor in 1987 and worked for Lovells and Shadbolt LLP, where he became a partner in 1994. He joined Beale and Company in 2010.
