Biography: Aviation

Antonio Vazquez is a partner in the firm Abogados Sierra y Vazquez in Mexico City. He was admitted to practise law in 1991 and his practice areas are civil law, civil litigation, amparo, corporate law and foreign investment. Mr Vazquez, of Mexican nationality, obtained his law degree at the Universidad Nacional Autónoma de México (UNAM). Mr Vazquez attended postgraduate studies in civil law, corporate law, amparo, financial and procedural law, civil and commercial matters and international arbitration. Currently he is a candidate to obtain the Juris Doctor degree from the Panamerican University.

Mr Vazquez has been a professor of amparo at the UNAM and has participated in several international conferences; has rendered his professional services to reputable law offices in civil and commercial litigation and amparo; and in the last 15 years has been practising litigation in aviation matters, participating in approximately thirty judicial repossessions which involved more than one hundred aircraft, advising lessors and financiers in the enforcement of their rights during default, liquidation and bankruptcy proceedings.

Mr Vazquez has been a lecturer at various universities throughout Latin America. In 2009 and 2010 Mr Vazquez was appointed as an official mediator in commercial, civil and family matters by the Superior Court of Justice of Mexico City.
