Prior to joining Sánchez Devanny, Mr León served as Associate Chief Counsel, International (financial instrument taxation) of Mexico's Tax Administration Service. He also worked as associate and local partner at a prestigious international law firm in the Juarez, Chicago and Monterrey offices. He holds a law degree from Instituto Tecnológico y de Estudios Superiores de Monterrey and a Master of Laws in Common Law Studies, with emphasis on taxation from Georgetown University Law Center. He is admitted to practise in Mexico.
He has published articles with Tax Notes International, and is co-author of the Mexican Chapter of Tolley's International Tax and Investment Service edited by the Centre for International Legal Studies of Salzburg, Austria; the Mexico Digest of the Digest of Commercial Laws of the World issued by Oceana Publications, Inc. and of 'Electronic Invoicing, a Practical Implementation Guide'. He is a member of the Advisory Board of the University of San Diego School of Law - Procopio International Tax Institute; IFA, Mexico Chapter; the International Bar Association; the American Bar Association tax and international sections; the Mexican Financial Executives Institute; and the National Association of Tax Specialists. He is ranked by Chambers and Partners, Who's Who Legal and Latin Lawyer among Mexico's leading tax professionals.
He is fluent in Spanish and English.
