Biography: Corporate Governance

Marek Procházka is the founding partner of PRK Partners and practises in the areas of dispute resolution (arbitration and mediation), banking law, mergers and acquisitions. He was educated in Switzerland and the United States before practising in the Czech Republic. After graduating from the University of Bern, he worked in the department of banking law in the university's law faculty. Afterwards, he obtained a master's degree from Georgetown University Law Center in Washington, DC.

Marek is an experienced lawyer with a deep practice and an approach to solve complex cases based on an integral approach from various fields of law and other disciplines. Recent cases involve international litigation and arbitration in various jurisdictions, regulatory advice to banks, and a number of successful mergers and acquisitions. Marek is the president of the Chamber of Commerce in Switzerland – Czech Republic; board member of Deutsche Schule Prag; and is involved in charitable activities. He is fluent in English, German, Czech and French. He is an attorney-at-law of the Czech Bar and is also admitted in Switzerland, where he still practises on behalf of some Czech clients. Marek has been recommended as a leading practitioner in banking, finance and capital markets, litigation and arbitration and corporate governance in the following publications: Chambers Global, Chambers Europe, International Financial Law Review and its Expert Guides, European Legal Experts, PLC Which Lawyer?, Legal 500 and Best Lawyers.
