From 1990 to 1997 Rolando Laclé Zuñiga worked as an associate at the law firm Robles-Laclé & Asociados. He then became a partner of Consortium - Laclé & Gutiérrez in 1997. He manages the corporate and real estate law department, as well as the litigation and arbitration department, of Consortium - Laclé & Gutiérrez.
Mr Laclé Zuñiga has participated in local and international transactions on matters related to securitisations, acquisitions of local companies, obtaining banking licences, bidding processes in telecommunications, real estate transactions and other projects. He is also an active litigator participating in civil and commercial lawsuits as well as arbitrations.
He obtained a master's degree from Georgetown University, USA, with a specialisation in corporate law, international finance and business administration, and securities law. He also has a master's degree in business law from the University of Costa Rica where he graduated with honours. On several occasions he has acted as a speaker and has vast experience in arbitration matters.
From 2009 to 2011 he was the president of the Center for Conciliation and Arbitration (CICA). He was nominated as one of the 'Top 40 Lawyers Under 40 in Central America' by
Latin Lawyer magazine (February 2005); and by the
Chambers Global: The World's Leading Lawyers for Business as one of the leading lawyers in Costa Rica, (2004-2005).
Rolando Laclé Zúñiga was an adviser to President Abel Pacheco, from Costa Rica, during his first two years of his administration period (2003-2004).
