Oleksandr Kurdydyk, partner, heads the finance and projects practice in the Kiev office of DLA Piper. He has over 16 years' experience of advising on legal, tax and business matters. Oleksandr focuses on corporate and banking law and advises on the structuring of mergers and acquisitions, debt finance, currency derivatives, securitisation, project finance, infrastructure and PPP. He also has significant industry experience in the energy, transport and telecommunications sectors.
After working for several Ukrainian banks in the late 1990s, Oleksandr joined the legal team of Arthur Andersen and subsequently Ernst & Young, where he was elevated to the position of manager at EY Law, the company's legal division. In 2005 he joined DLA Piper in Ukraine and became partner in 2007. Since then he has significantly developed the Kyiv-based finance and projects practice, now comprising 10 lawyers handling major deals, and is ranked in the top tier for banking and finance by major local and international ratings agencies.
Currently Oleksandr is involved in complex infrastructure deals in the renewables and gas sectors, and also represents the client in the first multibillion LBO transaction in the Ukrainian market.
Oleksandr graduated from Lviv National University in 1996. He became a certified attorney at law in 2000. In 2010 he successfully completed leadership courses of the executive education in Harvard Business School.
