Alexander Zharskiy, partner at ALRUD Law Firm, is the head of the firm's corporate/M&A and banking and finance practices.Alexander has profound expertise in all kinds of financial and capital markets transactions both domestic and cross-border. He is experienced in supporting major Russian and international M&A transactions, structuring M&A and JV deals under Russian law. He is skilful in consulting Russian and international clients from diverse economic sectors on pre-bankruptcy and bankruptcy procedures including at the stage of the court hearings. Alexander also advises clients on a broad spectrum of corporate and commercial work.
The most recent deals handled by Alexander Zharskiy include advising underwriters in connection with the IPO of the shares of Mail.ru Group Limited in the form of GDRs and placing of GDR at the London Stock Exchange (LSE). The amount of offering arranged US$1 billion.
Alexander Zharskiy is a member of the FAS Expert Council on protection of competition in the financial services market. His speaking and publication activities include major Russian and foreign conferences and seminars and contributions to legal periodicals in various areas of corporate law, and other spheres of his interest. Alexander Zharskiy is a member of the International Bar Association.
