Biography: Construction

Thomas has been living and working in Russia since 1994. He joined the Moscow office of Noerr in 2006 as a partner. He has wide experience in advising on investment, financing and other projects of Western and Russian businesses in the Russian Federation. He focuses on greenfield and brownfield projects, mergers and acquisitions and joint ventures. His field of activity covers a wide range of industrial sectors, including real estate, engineering, oil and gas, automotive industry, chemicals, consumer products, food and beverages, retail and IT.

Thomas advises international businesses on the acquisition of property rights to Russian real estate for industrial, commercial and residential use, including due diligence of land and buildings, entering into investment and sale and purchase agreements and all related financing issues. His experience covers acquisition of real estate in the form of both asset and share deal. He assists investors and the financing banks in setting up and registering mortgages. He negotiated and drafted the legal framework (including loan, sale and purchase and leasing agreements) for real estate leasing projects under Russian law. His experience covers all aspects of commercial lease agreements, including long- and short-term lease agreements and agreements on the protection of old and new landlord and tenant in the event of a sale of the leased building. Thomas has deep experience in advising businesses in negotiations and disputes of engineering and construction agreements.

Thomas's client base includs major international and medium-sized businesses.

Thomas is a member of the board, and chairman of the legal committee of the German-Russian Foreign Trade Chamber (Deutsch-Russische Auslandhandelskammer).
