Ms Suleyeva is the leading lawyer for banking and financing projects, structuring of transactions and investments related to business in Kazakhstan. She has been continually providing advice to lead managers engaged in the issue and placement of sovereign Eurobonds, corporate debt and other securities. Ms Suleyeva is also experienced in advising on maritime law, including registration and re-flagging of sea vessels, and participated in the development of the Law on Sea Merchant Shipping in the framework of an EBRD financing project.
She has participated in many recent major projects including giving advice as a Kazakhstan council on an international transaction for securing a US$600 million loan to a Kazakhstan oil company; advice to a number of major Korean banks in connection with long-term syndicated financing of Kazakhstan construction companies exceeding US$50 million; and advice to major international finance and investment institutions acting as lead managers for the US$1.2 billion to US$4 billion London GDR IPOs for a number of major Kazakhstan banks and production companies.
Ms Suleyeva graduated in 1981 from the department of history of the Kazakhstan State University, and in 1997 she completed studies at the Adilet Law School, where she was specialising in civil and commercial law. She earned her Doctor of History degree in 1987.
She speaks Russian and English.
