Biography: Arbitration

Jonathan Sutcliffe is a partner in Fulbright & Jaworski's Dubai office. He has significant experience in international arbitration and dispute resolution, and has acted for numerous clients on a diverse range of matters covering international commercial arbitration, alternative dispute resolution and litigation. These cases have arisen from a variety of sectors including energy, construction, defence, insurance, international joint ventures, hospitality and entertainment, in addition to investor-state disputes. His experience includes arbitrations under the ICC, LCIA, AAA (ICDR), UNCITRAL, DIAC (Dubai International Arbitration Centre) and ICSID rules, as well as ad hoc arbitration. He also has experience sitting as an arbitrator. He is on the panel of international arbitrators of the AAA (ICDR), listed as an arbitrator by the DIAC and listed in the roster of arbitrators for the Houston Maritime Arbitrators Association.

  Jonathan is a frequent writer and speaker on international arbitration topics. He is recommended for international arbitration by various prominent legal guides, including Chambers and Legal 500.

  Jonathan was educated at the University of Oxford (Worcester College) and The College of Law in Guildford. He is qualified as a solicitor in England and Wales (1997), admitted to the Bar in New York (2002) and registered as an advocate in the Dubai International Financial Centre (DIFC) Courts. Before moving to Dubai, Jonathan worked in London, New York and Houston.
