Biography: Arbitration

David Howell is a partner and co-chair of the global international arbitration group of Fulbright & Jaworski. He regularly appears as principal counsel and advocate in international commercial, construction and energy, oil and gas arbitrations held under ICC, LCIA, AAA/ICDR, SCC, SIAC, UNCITRAL and other arbitration rules. He is on the panel of arbitrators of several international arbitration institutions and is a CEDR-trained mediator. He is a Fellow of the UK Chartered Institute of Arbitrators, the Singapore Institute of Arbitrators and the Hong Kong Institute of Arbitrators. He is a Solicitor Advocate of the English High Court and is admitted as a solicitor in Hong Kong. He is a member of the LCIA and of the advisory board of the Institute for Transnational Arbitration. He is editor and contributing author of Electronic Disclosure in International Arbitration (Juris) and was principal drafter of the CIArb Protocol for E-disclosure in Arbitration. He has practiced in London, Dubai and Singapore, where he was a member of the initial advisory committee of SIAC that drafted the SIAC arbitration rules, and a member of the Law Reform subcommittee that drafted the Singapore 1994 International Arbitration Act. He is a graduate (MA) of Oxford University.
