He has worked on tax structure and planning for mergers, acquisitions and other major projects and transactions for several industries, including infrastructure, oil and gas, mining, energy, water supply, telecommunications, finance, retail and health care. He also has ample experience in developing tax structures for project finance and government bids with international components, and in the creation of free trade zones.
He is a frequent speaker in seminars on taxation and foreign exchange. He has published several works on tax related matters, including Taxation in Latin America (1995) and New Exchange Rules Applicable in Colombia (co-author, 1991). He is a regular contributor to several publications.
Juan Guillermo has a JD from the Universidad Javeriana, a Masters degree in Administrative Law from Universidad del Rosario, and a degree in Business Management from Inalde Business School of Universidad de la Sabana. His native language is Spanish and he is fluent in English.
