Mr Dias de Souza holds a Bachelor's degree in Law from USP - University of São Paulo (1966). He is also an expert in tax law and finance and holds a Masters of Law with concentration in economic and financial law from USP.
He is a member of the São Paulo and Distrito Federal Lawyers Institutes (OAB-SP/DF). He is also the member of the legal committee of the Federation of the Industries of the State of São Paulo (FIESP); São Paulo Academy of Law; Brazilian Academy of Tax Law; legal council of the São Paulo State Trade Federation (FCESP); advisory council of the Brazilian Institute of Ethical Competition (ETCO). Moreover, he is a former president of the International Academy of Law and Economy and a former professor of tax law from USP.
Hamilton Dias de Souza is the author of several books and articles, including Importing Tax Structure on National Tax Code (Estrutura do Imposto de Importação no Código Tributário Nacional) and several articles published in specialised books and magazines, including International Treaties: WTO and MERCOSUR (Tratados Internacionais: OMC e MERCOSUL), granted best article in tax law (1997).
Mr Dias de Souza was considered a leading lawyer in Chambers Global (2002-2003) and Chambers Latin America (2008-2011). He was also highly recommended by Practical Law Company (2008-2011) and named among most admired lawyers by Análise Advocacia (2006-2010).
