He has advised several Brazilian and international clients on significant M&A transactions in Brazil, such as the split of Autolatina (a former joint venture between Volkswagen and Ford in Brazil), the sale of Cervejarias Kaiser to Molson, the acquisition of Leão Junior (Matte Leão) by Coca-Cola and the segregation and sale of the Chrysler business in the country by Mercedes-Benz.
As well as being ranked by Latin Lawyer as one of the most recommended M&A and corporate lawyers in Brazil, he has been selected as a runner-up by the publication's Law Firm Leader of the Year Award, in 2008. This selection is the result of creating a successful firm in a such a short period of time. Lobo is also recognised by Chambers Global and Chambers Latin America as a leading lawyer in his field.
Lobo was born in Mozambique and has Portuguese nationality. He came to Brazil in 1974 and graduated from the University of São Paulo in 1981. He is the author of the chapter covering Brazil from International Securities Regulation: Brazil and Enforcement of Money Judgments. He is a frequent speaker at M&A and private equity conferences in Brazil.
He founded several business enterprises along the years, among them Lobini Automóveis, a sports car manufacturing company.
