Biography: Internet & e-Commerce

Peter Huppertz oversees the information technology and intellectual property practice of Hoffmann Liebs Fritsch & Partner and has more than 15 years of experience in the preparation and negotiation of various licensing, development, distribution, outsourcing and other technology-related agreements. In addition, Peter Huppertz provides counselling on open source software licensing, data protection, e-commerce legal issues and technology related litigation as well as on the intellectual property issues related to corporate finance, mergers and acquisitions, and corporate securities transactions.

Mr Huppertz publishes regularly and delivers lectures at trade-specific events and is an expert lecturer at the TÜV-Akademie Rheinland/Brandenburg for IT law and for the German Lawyer Academy (Deutsche Anwaltakademie). He serves as member of the executive committee of the information technology working group of the German Bar Association and the examination board of the Düsseldorf bar for the admittance of certified IT-lawyers. Furthermore Mr Huppertz is also co-chair of the IP law committee of the International Technology Law Association (ITechLaw), the world's largest association of IT-law practitioners.
