Some of his recent work includes advising a variety of clients in relation to corporate leniency applications as well as in defending prohibited practice cases, representing Absa in the first comprehensive investigation by the South African competition authorities into banking fees and general banking practices. His recent merger work includes representing Remgro Subsidiaries, Wispeco and TSB as well as Imperial Holdings Limited in its acquisition of control over Midas. He is also representing GlaxoSmithKline and Aspen Pharma Limited in relation to a notification to the South African, Namibian, Zambian, Zimbabwean and Tanzanian competition authorities.
Anton has been highly recommended internationally as a competition lawyer by PLC Which Lawyer? 2008. He has been nominated for inclusion in the inaugural edition of Best Lawyers: South Africa in the field of antitrust. He was recognised as a leader in the field of competition and antitrust (South Africa) by Chambers Global 200709. In addition, Anton was internationally recognised as a leading lawyer in the field of competition law by Practical Law Company's Global Counsel Handbook for 2005.
