Kofo obtained her first degree from the University of Ife, Ile-Ife, Nigeria (LLB honours), and an LLM from King's College London, in 1980 and 1983 respectively. Kofo worked with Citibank Nigeria Limited for 11 years before joining Aluko & Oyebode as a partner in 1996.
Kofo advised on the US$1.275 billion financing of Exxon Mobil's Natural Gas Liquid II Project, the US$1.5 billion financing of Phase 2 of the NGL II Project; the US$600 million financing of the Satellite Oil Fields Project; and the US$1.06 billion financing of the 4th and 5th trains of Nigeria LNG Limited's plant by Nigerian and Foreign Banks/ECAs. She also advised the sponsors of Lekki Concession Infrastructure Project for the construction of toll roads and bridges in Lagos state in the first major private-public sector partnership initiative in the infrastructure sector in Nigeria. The Project has won several awards, including Africa Investor - 2008 Transport Deal of the Year, Reuters PFI - 2008 African Infrastructure Deal of the Year, and Euromoney Institutional Investor Plc - 2008 Africa Public Private Partnership Deal of the Year. She advised Stanbic IBTC Bank Plc and a number of financial institutions in connection with a €225 million syndicated underwritten multi-currency medium term facility provided to Lafarge Cement Wapco Nigeria Plc for the development of a cement plant.
Kofo advised some financial institutions in connection with a US$70 million Gas Pipeline and Central Processions Facility Development; US$270 million UNICEM refinancing and US$205 million UNICEM project finance for the construction of a 2.2 million ton per annum cement plant in Calabar; MTN refinancing by way of a US$1.783 billion syndicated term facility; US$130 million syndicated multi-currency medium term loan to a local sugar manufacturer; among others. She continues to advise financial institutions in the Nigerian Market, including Citigroup, Standard Chartered Bank, Stanbic IBTC Bank and Commerzbank.

Kofo advised the sponsors (NNPC and Mobil Producing Unlimited) in the US$3.5 billion financing of the Satellite Oil Field Project; advised two local financial institutions in connection with a $70million facility provided to Accugas Limited and Seven Energy Limited. This transaction was awarded the Euromoney/Project Finance Magazine African Midstream Oil & Gas Deal of the Year 2010; UNICEM in connection with US$275million refinancing; MTN refinancing in connection with a US$1.873billion Syndicated Term Facility and DNB Nor Bank ASA and Credit Agricole Corporate & Investment Bank in connection with a US$1.8bn financing of four deep-water drilling vessels. She continues to advise financial institutions in the Nigerian Market, including Citigroup, Standard Chartered, Stanbic IBTC and Commerze Bank.
