He is regularly appointed, either as a counsel of a party or as an arbitrator, in domestic or international, judicial or arbitral proceedings.
Mr Dieux was named 'Best Belgian Business Lawyer of 2000' by Chambers Global and was described as 'one of the best corporate litigators in the country' in Chambers Global (2009). He is also 'highly recommended' and 'highly regarded for his arbitration practice' in the Practical Law Company - Dispute Resolution 2008/2009.
Xavier Dieux currently teaches at the Université Libre de Bruxelles, Commercial Law (Company Law, Bankruptcy and Composition, Commercial Contracts) and Financial Law (Market regulation and public offerings).
He is a member of the Premium Forum for International Arbitration (IAI).
Xavier Dieux is also a member of the Royal Academy of Belgium and honorary member of the Banking and Finance Commission.
Xavier Dieux is the author of numerous articles in the fields of civil, commercial, finance, and company law.
Prior to joining Willkie Farr & Gallagher LLP as a partner in 2002, Xavier Dieux was a partner at Dieux Geens Cornelis (1994-2001) and Van Ryn and Van Ommeslaghe (1986-1994). He is admitted to the Brussels Bar (1978).
Mr Dieux received his Doctorat en Droit (summa cum laude) from the Université Libre de Bruxelles in 1994, and his Licence Spéciale en Droit Économique (summa cum laude) and Licence en Droit (summa cum laude) from the Université Libre de Bruxelles between 1978-1979.
