Her recent experience includes representing Turkey in current ICSID arbitrations brought under the Energy Charter Treaty for an alleged total amount of US$18 billion. Other notable ICC experience includes advising a leading natural gas company in a dispute involving a foreign entity and representation of a company in a US$125 million construction dispute arbitration. In the recent years, Ms Cosar has represented clients in two other international arbitration cases before the ICC, both of which involved multi-hundred million US dollar compensation claims in the energy sector.
Ms Cosar is a member of the ABA, IBA, New York State Bar Association and Ankara Bar Association, is listed in Chambers and European Experts as a dispute resolution expert, and is admitted to practise law in New York and Turkey. She is the author of Turkey's chapter in Privilege and Confidentiality (IBA) and International Mergers: The Antitrust Process (Sweet & Maxwell) and serves on the editorial board of Dispute Resolution International Journal (IBA).
A graduate of Marmara University Law School, Ms Cosar has received two LLM degrees from Georgetown University: Law and International Legal Studies. Ms Cosar speaks fluent Turkish and English, and has basic knowledge of German.
