Biography: Business Crime Defence

Mr Durrieu is a partner of Estudio Durrieu Abogados SC, one of the biggest white-collar crime law firms in Latin America. He has handled some of the largest and most complex criminal/criminal economic cases in the region. He is also a consultant of private and public organisations (eg, the International Monetary Fund, the Congress of Argentina) in anti-money laundering and corruption.

Roberto is a member of the International Bar Association (elected officer of the World Organisations Committee for the period 2009–2011) and a member of the Association of Certified Fraud Examiners (ACFE), with a fraud examiner licence approved (Texas, 2007). He is a professor of postgraduate courses and has published three books and more than 20 academic papers. Among his honours, Mr Durrieu received the Inter-American Bar Association Best Book Award 2007 (Mexico DC, June 2007) and he was appointed on the List of Counsel of the International Criminal Court (The Hague, Netherlands, 2010). He has been distinguished several times as one of Argentina's best lawyers (eg, Apertura 2008–2010 and Infobae 2006).

Mr Durrieu is a candidate of the DPhil in Law, from Oxford University (England, 2010). He received his law degree from the Argentine Catholic University (Argentina,1998), and a Master in Law (LLM) from Duke University School of Law (USA, 2000).
