Peter Grealy is a partner at Webber Wentzel and head of the firm's IT electronic business, media and telecommunications practice. His areas of expertise include general commercial law, telecommunications and broadcasting regulatory and administrative law, general advice on copyright relating to media and entertainment, contractual law for media and technology, defamation law for broadcasters and publications, general advice in respect of film and television productions, telecommunications interconnection and facilities leasing, cross-border negotiation and conclusion of telecommunications and broadcasting agreement, internet law, e-business, mobile banking, systems acquisitions and data protection and entertainment law.

Peter's recent work includes drafting general commercial agreements in respect of development, outsourcing supply and maintenance and systems acquisitions; providing advice for tender processes in the procurement and establishment of electronic data warehouses/enterprise data warehouses and finalisation of relevant agreements; advising on outsourcing of data processing and information technology services, information technology infrastructure and information systems infrastructure; acting for the shareholders of a joint venture created to provide a mobile banking platform in South Africa and in other African territories; acting for a telephone operator in the creation of a joint venture with a broadcaster to exploit DVB-H in South Africa and African territories; regularly advising on the regulatory environment and in relation to commercial agreements relevant to e-Commerce, including advising on on-line banking; acting as counsel for broadcasters in matters referred to the Broadcasting Complaints Commission of South Africa; drafting of telecommunications interconnection and facilities leasing; appearing before the Parliamentary portfolio committee on behalf of the National Association of Broadcasters in relation to the amendments to the Performers' Protection and Copyright Acts; acting for a telephone operator as regulatory expert in its acquisition of a multi-national telephone company with operations in Africa and the Middle East.
