Biography: Internet & e-Commerce

Duncan Card is widely regarded as one of the world's leading information technology, internet, and e-business lawyers. Duncan's technology practice focuses on strategic commercial transactions, including e-commerce and internet business strategies. This year represents Duncan's 13th year of inclusion in the prestigious ranking by Lexpert Magazine and American Lawyer Media as one of the 'leading 500 Lawyers in Canada,' where he is ranked as a "most frequently recommended" lawyer for technology. Duncan is cited among the top internet lawyers in the world in the The International Who's Who of Internet and E-Commerce Lawyers, 2009; Duncan is also cited as a leading information technology lawyer in Lawday's 2010 North America's Leading Lawyers and as one of the world's leading technology lawyers in Euromoney's Expert Guides to the World's Leading Technology, Media & Telecommunications Lawyers (UK publication). Duncan is included in Woodward/White's 2008 edition of The Best Lawyers in Canada and in 2010 Chambers Global: The World's Leading Lawyers for Business for information technology.

Duncan is a member of the Canadian Chamber of Commerce's e-commerce committee; the Licensing Executives Society (USA and Canada) (past co-chair, e-commerce committee); the advisory board for E-Commerce Law Magazine; the Retail Council of Canada's e-business committee; and served as the Canadian correspondent for World e-Business Law Report.

Duncan obtained his LLM in International Trade and IT Transactions at University of Toronto and his Certificate of International Law from the Academy of Law, The Hague. He is called to the Ontario, Canada and Bermuda Islands Bar.
