Biography: Corporate Governance
Alan is a senior partner in the firm's corporate department. He practises primarily in the areas of mergers and acquisitions, corporate reorganisations and private and public funding and represents public companies, institutional investors and independent committees of directors of public companies. Alan has routinely acted in respect of significant domestic and multinational mergers and acquisitions, financing transactions, joint ventures and advises corporations on the structuring and implementation of corporate governance practices.Selected experience includes acting for SSAB, in connection with its US$4.025 billion sale of the IPSCO Tubulars business to Evraz; Extendicare Real Estate Investment Trust, in connection with the $126.6 million offering of trust units and convertible debentures; and Visa Inc in Canada on its US$19.7 billion Initial Public Offering.
