Biography: Corporate Immigration

Mark Buchanan is a partner for the Asia region with Fragomen Global part of the world's leading corporate immigration law firm, Fragomen, Del Rey, Bernsen & Loewy. Mark is based in the Singapore office and has practised for over 17 years with leading local and international law firms providing corporate, employment and immigration law advice and services to local and multinational corporations in the region. He now practises exclusively in the field of corporate immigration.

Mark provides comprehensive immigration consultancy services and overall immigration management for the Asia region: formulating and implementing compliant immigration programmes on behalf of clients; providing comprehensive immigration services using our Fragomen network of offices and qualified co-counsel in each of the host countries; advising multinational clients on the immigration requirements arising out of merger and acquisition transactions and corporate restructurings; and advising on compliant solutions for urgent temporary assignments and projects.

He is a member of the Law Society of Singapore; the Singapore Academy of Law; the Inner Temple (London); the General Counsel of the Bar (England and Wales); and American Chamber of Commerce in Singapore.

His publications and lectures include: 'Principles of Successful Corporate Immigration in Singapore' in Immigration Law Client Strategies in the Asia Pacific published by Aspatore Books; a chapter on Singapore for the Global Mobility Handbook 2010 in conjunction with the Brazilian Foreign Ministry; presenter at the Asia Pacific Immigration Compliance Issues, The Lighthouse Conference (Construction Industry), Hong Kong, 2009; The Law Society of Singapore Employment Law Conference, October 2005; Key Media Seminar on Expatriate Immigration, February 2007; and 'Immigration Compliance in the Asia Pacific Region,' In-house Congress, Singapore, 2008. He has been listed in The International Who's Who of Corporate Immigration Lawyers, 2009. He is admitted as a Barrister-at-Law of England and Wales and Singapore Advocate and Solicitor, and was educated at Nottingham (Trent) University, LLB, 1990, and the University of Caen, Normandy, France, Certificat d'Études Juridiques Françaises et Normandes (Diploma in French and Norman Law), 1993.
