Biography: Corporate Immigration

Owen Davies is a solicitor and Sub-Saharan immigration expert at the Johannesburg office of the world's leading corporate immigration law firm, Fragomen, Del Rey, Bernsen & Loewy. Prior to joining Fragomen, Owen worked in private legal practice and was a partner at the boutique immigration firm, Laura Devine Solicitors, in London. Owen is a recognised expert in assisting global corporations in the development and implementation of immigration strategy. He established and continues to lead the Fragomen team advising clients on Sub-Saharan Africa immigration issues. His achievements to date include proposing a global immigration programme for one client which saved the company US$500,000 in costs per year; acting as lead immigration counsel on the largest non-resource corporate deal in African history involving 16 countries; and advisor to three national governments on immigration policy review.

He is a member of the Law Society and has spoken at international conferences on global immigration issues. He has also lectured on immigration law at a number of prominent universities in the US and UK.

Owen is admitted as a solicitor of the Supreme Court of England and Wales and was educated at Brunel, University of London, Bachelor of Laws and the College of Law, London, Legal Practicing Certificate (distinction). In addition to English, Owen speaks fluent French.
