Biography: Mergers and Acquisitions

Eduardo Cárdenas graduated as a Doctor in Jurisprudence from Colegio Mayor de Nuestra Señora del Rosario.

Eduardo Cárdenas' expertise involves advising Colombian and international companies in business transactions, mergers and acquisitions, finance, foreign investment, distribution and channel matters, licensing of software and service contracts in the information and technology sector. Mr Cárdenas' long tenure at the firm while being a student at law school (beginning in 1974), and being involved in the different areas of practice of the firm has given him a comprehensive knowledge of business law, enhanced by a four-year hiatus as senior corporate attorney for Microsoft Corporation's Latin American office, based in Fort Lauderdale, where he strengthened his expertise in the technology sector, negotiation of complex licensing and services arrangements, antitrust matters and employee training in legal matters all with a Latin America region-wide perspective.

Also worth highlighting is the election of Eduardo Cardenas as one of the five-member board (Consiliario) of Universidad del Rosario, the oldest and one of the leading universities of Colombia, well known for its law and medicine faculties (among others), a higher education institution that neighbours a student body of over 10,000 alumni. The expertise of Eduardo Cárdenas involves advising Colombian and international companies in business transactions, mergers and acquisitions, finance, foreign investment and in commercial agency regulations, licensing of software and service contracts in the information and technology sector.

He is a member of the International Trademark Association (INTA), the International Bar Association (IBA), the College of Commercial Lawyers, the College of Universidad del Rosario Lawyers, and the College of Mining and Petroleum Lawyers.
